So I really dug in my heels today and went to work on my very first original wordpress theme. Following the advice of nearly everyone, I used one of the default themes (in fact it was called default) and went from there.

I limited myself to adjusting the CSS file only, and not get to far into the workings of the wordpress mechanism. Surprisingly it came together fairly quickly. Granted is is a very simple theme, and it does keep a lot of the same elements exactly as they were. I’m planning on messing around with it more tomorrow, or the next day though, and maybe i’ll make it a little more customized.

It’s called Lonely Island, and as of right now it uses a whopping two images. Below is a screenshot, and hopefully it’ll be available for public release in the next few days. Let me know what you think guys :)
