So I’ve been MIA for a while, and theres a few good reasons:
- I just accepted a part-time web designer position over at Lubbock Internet , and it’s going well. This is the first time I’ve been able to geta position as a web designer and it’s interesting to work at what I love to do.
- I’m engaged! Me and my longitme girlfriend Josie are getting married on September 9th, 2007, here in Austin. We did think about eloping (sic) to Hawaii/Vegas/somewhere else, but it’ll be fun to have the entire family there. In case you’re curious we’ve already booked the chapel, and it’s beautiful.
- The redesign is taking a lot longer than I though, especially now that I’m working two jobs, and planning a wedding. It looks good though, and it’s turning out to be exactly what I want from the layout, which is good. If you wanna keep an eye on how things are going check out my redesign folder, and let me know what you think about the progress (be nice).
- We just got a new pet: Frederico, an baby albino parakeet. He’s a blast to play with (chase around the house), although his incessant chirping is sometimes annoying.
Anyway, just wanted to throw out an update to anyone who is still reading. Thanks for sticking around, more blogging is definitely on the horizon.

First of all congradulations with:
- Your engagement (also congratz to your wife-to-be!) – Your new job – And ofcourse your new pet parakeet
The redesign is comming up nicely ineed!
You wanted a more traditional blog-layout and I must say you did a superb job! It’s got a realy clean feel and the contrasts in the design are realy relaxing on the eyes somehow (even the header).
That’s all I have to say on first glance.

Thanks Rom. I was a bit worried about the lack of lack of so many ‘illustrative’ elements in the design, but all-in-all in works out the way I wanted. I’ve also been spending a lot of time on the typography, and trying to get pay more attention to the little things that I overlooked with this design.

In all honesty, I think the new design is awesome, but I like your current design better, really sorry.. The new one does seem to fit a blog better than the current one, it’s hard to put to words :)
Either way, been a long time lurker after I got hooked on the design, figured it was time for a post now. Congratulations with the job, engagement and pet, you’re on a roll, keep it up!
